Kalawa Haathi Toran

Handcrafted Sacred Door Hanging by IBHI

Product Description

The Kalawa Haathi Toran by IBHI is a celebration of auspicious symbolism, handcrafted tradition, and detailed artistry. Created using sacred kalawa thread (also known as nandachaadi), this toran brings together ritual significance and decorative elegance, making it a meaningful addition to entrances and sacred spaces.

Each elephant motif is carefully constructed in a three-dimensional form, individually wrapped in kalawa thread by skilled artisans. Symbolising strength, protection, and prosperity, the elephants create a rhythmic visual flow across the doorway while maintaining a refined handcrafted character.

The eyes of every elephant are delicately formed using cowrie (kodi) shells, traditionally associated with abundance and positive energy. Completing the design, the tail features a bunch of metal ghunghroos, adding gentle movement and festive charm to the toran.

Designed to suit diverse spaces, the width of the toran can be customised according to door size, making it ideal for both Indian and international homes.
